Well, labor day came and went pretty fast for me. I visited family and took a break from both my jobs (in addition to writing I hold down a regular 9 to 5 like everyone else).
It was great fun seeing the folks and a much needed break to help recharge the batteries. And of course like all good vacations, the first day back to work was a veritable shit-storm of "things gone wrong" while I was away. Glad it was only an extended weekend!
Anyway, for the erotica side of my life I've finally plotted my pizza boy story and am proceeding nicely on it. It's taken a completely different turn than I expected and I'm fairly happy with it. It's also pretty much decided me that I'm going to keep producing some of the darker erotica for a while, used and abused men are really speaking to me at this point! Although I'm really wanting to continue my Escort series as well, I went back and re-read my stories there and came away wanting to know more about my escort...so it may be time to see what he's been up to.
One more note, I really want to start giving away free copies of some of my stories but it appears to be exceptionally difficult to do on Amazon. I am STILL waiting for them to make my Public Sex: Dining Out story free. Currently you have to get it from Kobo or Smashwords in order to receive the free version, it's still $2.99 at Amazon and B&N. So I think I'm just going to make things $2.99 everywhere and give out free coupons for Smashwords only. It will make life so much simpler for me and end the stress of constantly trying to poke Amazon and get them to change the prices. And even if you can only get it on Smashwords, at least I can put my stories in your hands via some route anyway!

What's taking me so long?

I'm feeling bad about not progressing this faster so thought I'd explain it real quick. After fixing my website so that it was less "wordy", as a friend put it, I've been trying to get all my stories updated so that they have a link in the back of them to my website.
The previous way of doing the "back matter" of the book was to just link all my stories in them. This was a pain because it meant I had to re-publish every story each time I released a new one. Now I have several more stories I've published and it became an unsightly, unwieldy mess.
I get a lot of wisdom by reading the thoughts and advice of fellow erotica authors and it just made sense to copy their efforts and get this all simplified and add the new content to a website so that I never have to touch the stories again. Should have done that from the start but I was already overwhelmed by everything just trying to see if I wanted to be a writer and wasn't sure I could handle a website too. However I do, so I did and now here I am. :)
So the hold up right now is going back through each story, for each different online retailer and updating the back-matter contents to simplify them and get the word out about my website! I plan to wrap that up this weekend as well as get a few more stories up on the website and then devote the rest of my free time to banging out this Pizza Boy Delivery! story.

Changes to the website already!!

Well, I knew I wouldn't get everything correct right off the bat but I've already been told that I talk too much on the website. Ha!
On my browse erotica tab I had thought to use that as a way to inform readers about my stories, try to tell them a little about what went into making it, etc. But in the end people go to blogs to read such things and when they want to browse erotica...the want to browse erotica!
Ok, ok. So I've spent the last several days going back through and changing things, now I have a small blurb up for each story when you click on Info and then an actual excerpt from the story of a hot, sexual scene and I'll leave it at that. I've been told if the scene can't speak for itself then no amount of words I wrap around it are going to make a difference. Point taken. :)
So all of this has delayed my Pizza boy story, which has been flopping back and forth in my mind from an "abduct him and bang him" style to a more pleasant, "seduce him with promises style" I've got a bit of the intro finished but I'm still not certain which direction the story is going to take.
I still have several stories that I need to get onto my website, after that I can happily devote myself to writing once more ... at least until the next thing comes up that I have to take time out to learn.

Updates on website and a new story!

This is a lot of work! :)
I'm slowly adding my stories to the site. I'm writing some of what I went through or was thinking when I wrote each of the stories as well as giving a small synopsis. As soon as I get several of the stories posted I'm going to go back and add a small erotic excerpt from each one so that people can get an idea of what they are like.
Somehow I finished my next story while doing all this. I've not got it posted on my website yet but it will follow shortly. This particular piece is my first go at a Dragqueen style of erotica. If it does well I have ideas for at least two more stories in the setting so here's hoping!
I've already decided that my next story is going to revolve around a pizza delivery guy, found my stock art to make the cover from and everything :) After writing this one, ordering pizza is going to feel awkward for a while...

My erotica website is in its infancy and I am continually adding content. I'm having to write up self reviews about my stories and re-size all my covers so that they fit neatly on the pages as well as continue to hold down my other obligations like writing stories!
One thing I wanted to note is that I'm kicking this off by making one of my earlier stories permanently free. I may need to re-order my website at sometime in the future as I grow the volume of my stories, but for now I'll just have them all grouped together.
